NO ONE FAKES
A CHECK-IN
A photo isn't proof — your crew is. If a check-in looks off, the group can call it, and the group decides. No admins, no arguments, no one person's word against another's.
SOMEONE CALLS IT
Long-press a check-in in the feed — or a member's row on the leaderboard — and hit Dispute. It's anonymous: nobody is notified, no live tally is shown, and the person who posted it isn't told who flagged them.
You get 72 hours from the moment a check-in is posted. You can't dispute your own, and you can't dispute the same one twice.
THE CREW VOTES
A check-in is only voided if more than half of the group's other members dispute it — with a minimum of two people. One grudge isn't enough. Two friends ganging up on a third isn't enough either.
In a two-person group, a verdict is mathematically impossible. That 1-v-1 fight is exactly the one this design refuses to have.
THE VERDICT STICKS
If the majority lands, that day is voided — no points, no streak, no leaderboard credit. The photo stays up with a neutral “Disputed — not counted” tag. Never the word “fake.”
If it doesn't land, the check-in simply stands and the window closes. Deleting the post and re-logging the day doesn't help — the verdict is re-applied.
WHAT IT ACTUALLY COSTS
One bad day is a mistake. A habit is something else. The consequence escalates with the pattern, not with the outrage.
QUIET VOID
The day doesn't count. That's it — no notification, no badge, nothing anyone else sees beyond the tag on the post.
No notificationYELLOW CARD · 3 DAYS
The day is voided, you get a private heads-up, and an amber card sits on your leaderboard row for 72 hours — visible to the whole group.
🟡 Carded · 3 days−3 POINTS
The day is voided, three points come off your score in that group, and the card resets for another 72 hours. Keep going and it keeps extending.
−3 pts · card refreshed- Anonymous by design. No live vote count, no “who reported me,” no pile-on.
- Enforced on the server. The verdict is written by ShowdUp's backend — the app can't fake or undo it.
- Photos stay up. A voided day is still part of your history, just not part of your score.
- Verdicts are final. There's no in-app appeal — edge cases go to hello@showdup.club.
